Do You Need To Update Your Internet Browser?

Anyone who accesses web pages, whether on a desktop computer, laptop, or mobile device, uses an internet browser. Various internet browsers are available, depending on your personal preferences and type of computer (PC or Mac). Most computers come with at least one default internet browser already installed to the desktop, and it is up to the user to decide to use this default or download an alternative browser to surf the web.
One thing that is consistent with all internet browsers is the need to update when new versions become available. Many web users do not understand the importance of updating their internet browser, nor do they realize how diminished their entire web browsing experience can become if they do not upgrade. What is so wrong with old browsers? To name a few things, old browsers are less stable, slower and more likely to crash, unable to display many new websites properly, and are more vulnerable to viruses, spyware, malware, and other security issues. Plus, older browsers’ lack of support for HTML5 and CSS3 prevent you from getting the full experience of a website. There comes a point where web developers stop testing older browsers (e.g. Internet Explorer 6 & 7) for compatibility at all because the small number of users makes it difficult to justify spending time troubleshooting issues.
Therefore, it is important to make sure that you have the most updated version of your internet browser in order to ensure the best web experience, not just with the AdaptiBar program, but with all websites you visit as well. If your internet browser is set to automatically update, you will be notified when an updated version is available to download. If not, almost every browser has an option under Tools labeled “About <Browser Name>” that will show you what version you have and if there is a new version available. Here is a list of the most popular (and most recommended) web browsers with links to each upgrade:

Why are new browsers better?

  • Far fewer instances of crashing or freezing
  • Much more secure from virus, browser hijacking attached, and malware
  • Faster page-loading
  • Larger page-viewing area
  • Wide variety of useful plugins and add-ons (e.g. In Chrome, you can add useful extensions, such as Facebook Notifications, Add to Amazon Wish List, and Google Dictionary.)
  • They can be installed on Windows XP
  • Automatically update to the latest version, or will notify you to download an update

There are many reasons to update your old  browser, so trust AdaptiBar Tech Support when we say that your experience on the program and web as a whole will be instantly better if you choose to upgrade.
