After months of non-stop studying, the long-anticipated bar exam has finally passed. Take a deep breath and give yourself a pat on the back for all your hard work prepping for the bar. There are no more outlines to review, video lectures to watch, or MBE practice questions to answer. Now that you’ve completed the bar exam, what will you do first?
The AdaptiBar team put together a list of some fun things to do with all your newfound free time!
Have an Adventure
Go someplace you’ve always wanted to visit! Whether planned or spontaneous, take advantage of this time to get away with friends you missed while studying.
Catch Up on Old Hobbies
Have you forgotten how to answer the question, “what do you do for fun?” Now is the time to remind yourself and get back to your hobbies. Whether you’re an amateur artist, musician, or aspiring novelist, now’s your chance to pick it back up.
Binge Watch All the Movies and Shows You’ve Missed
Studying for the bar certainly takes precedence over watching “The Office” for the second (or sixth) time through. Treat yourself and catch up on all the shows, movies, and podcasts that came out while you were studying.
Take a Group Fitness Class
If your bar exam prep impeded your regular gym time, it could be challenging to get back in the habit of working out. Group exercise classes are a great place to pick the habit back up. From Beginner Yoga to Intense Cardio Kickboxing, there’s a class out there for everyone!
Plan Your Next Goal to Accomplish
Start thinking about what goal you’d like to accomplish next. Do you want to learn how to play the guitar or speak another language? Think of your next goal and how you plan to achieve it. Create a schedule and dates to check in on your progress. Remember, you can do anything you set your mind to!
Treat yourself to a little retail therapy. You’ve earned it! Even if you don’t find something to buy, seeing what’s new and available in your favorite stores can still be fun.
Attend a Concert
Trade-in your studies for a chance to unwind listening to some live music. Check your county’s website and see what is happening in your local community. Many local concerts and festivals even offer free admission.
Have a Picnic with Family and Friends
Since bar prep started, you may have fallen off the grid with family and friends. Get some fresh air while visiting and catching up over delicious homemade food. You just accomplished something significant in your life – now find out what’s going on in their life!
Visit a Museum
Admire the beauty of paintings and sculptures at an art museum or awe at the wonders of ancient artifacts at a science/history museum. As a bonus, many museums offer free admission on certain days. Head over to a nearby museum that interests you or make a day trip out of visiting one further away!
Whatever you do with your newfound free time, make sure that you take some well-deserved time to celebrate your hard work and accomplishments!
